What Happens During Your Treatment

1
Consultation and Evaluation: We start the process with a thorough exam, digital imaging and a discussion of your medical history. We evaluate bone health and determine whether implants are right for you or if a bone graft is needed first.
2
Treatment Planning: Dr. Morgan or Dr. Gardocki will create a custom treatment plan outlining the number of implants, timeline and restoration type (crown, bridge or denture).
3
Implant Placement: Under local anesthesia, the titanium implant post is surgically placed into the jawbone. This replaces the tooth root and provides a stable foundation for your new tooth.
4
Healing and Osseointegration: Over the next 3–6 months, the implant fuses with your natural bone in a process called osseointegration. This creates a strong, permanent base.
5
Abutment Placement: Once healing is complete, a small connector piece called an abutment is attached to the implant. This will hold your final crown or bridge in place.
6
Final Restoration: Your custom crown, bridge or denture is secured to the implant. It’s shaped and colored to match your smile—and functions like a natural tooth.
7
Follow-up and Maintenance: Regular checkups ensure that your implant stays healthy and strong. With proper care, your dental implant can last for decades.
